

Dutch pea soup is a traditional delicacy from Dutch cuisine. It is a rich and flavorful dish, ideal as a side. Dried peas are softened in water and then cooked with a pig's trotter, pig's ear, bacon, potatoes, celery, onion, and leek, creating a thick and tasty soup. Serve hot accompanied by crusty bread.
Boil 250 g
of dried peas soaked for 3 hours in 2 l
of water with a little salt, a pig's trotter, a pig's ear, and 50 g
of bacon.
After 1 hour, add 2 peeled and diced potatoes, 2 chopped celery stalks, 1 sliced onion, and 1 sliced leek.
Simmer for 45 minutes and add 2 sliced sausages.
Bring back to a boil and remove from heat.
