Laks is a delicious dish of cured salmon, typical of Nordic cuisine. The curing gives the salmon a unique flavor and a soft texture. Served as a main course, laks is perfect for an elegant dinner or a barbecue with friends.

The salmon must be cleaned and deboned
It is then rubbed with salt, sugar, pepper and dill, then closed and placed in an airtight bowl
It should then rest in a cool place for two days
From time to time it should be lifted out, draining the liquid released by the fish
When this long curing is finished, proceed to slice it into thin slices (like smoked salmon)
At serving time, pair it with a mustard sauce made with brown sugar, salt, dill and a few drops of oil
The salmon slices are served with steamed new potatoes or spinach and scrambled eggs
