
Pepatelli are delicious little sweets made with honey, tritello flour, almonds, orange, white pepper and butter. They originate from the Sicily region in Italy and are considered true delights for the palate. Their name comes from the word pepe, which refers to the presence of white pepper, giving these sweets a unique spicy touch. They are very easy to prepare and are perfect to enjoy as an appetizer or as a dessert.




Blanch, peel and chop the almonds
Pour the honey into a small saucepan, place it over low heat and stir continuously until it boils
Add the almonds and the grated orange zest
Add the flour and a generous amount of white pepper and continue stirring over the heat until you obtain a very firm dough
Pour the mixture into a baking pan (it should be 3-4 cm high)
Let it cool, then cut it into many 5 cm square pieces
Arrange them on a buttered baking sheet and bake in the oven at 160°C
