Peel the potatoes and slice them into rounds, peel the onions and slice them into rings
Butter a baking dish, make a first layer of potatoes, season with salt and pepper, add some chopped rosemary and a drizzle of oil
Make a second layer with onions, season with salt and pepper, add rosemary and a bit of oil
Continue layering in this way until all ingredients are used up, ending with the potatoes
Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil and bake in the oven for an hour
Remove the aluminum foil and continue baking for another 20 minutes to brown the potatoes
