Carnival chiacchiere are a traditional sweet of the carnival period. They are sweets consumed in all Italian regions, but they are called differently from region to region, for example, in Lombardy they are called Chiacchiere, Sfrappole in Emilia, cenci in Tuscany, and also Bugie, Intrigoni, etc. The chiacchiera is a very simple sweet to prepare.
