Denomination: Chianti Rufina DOCG Riserva Grape variety: Sangiovese, Merlot Name: Cedro Riserva Alcohol: 14° Format: 0.75L Production area: Pontassieve (FI), Tuscany, Italy Description: The winemaking is done in a traditional way, manual harvesting of the grapes around mid-October, gentle destemming of the grapes, maceration and fermentation in steel at controlled temperature for about 15 days. The aging takes place in oak barriques for about 24 months, then blended in oak barrels for another 18 months. It perfectly reflects the character of the terroir of Chianti Rufina, an expression of Tuscan wine. Obtained from thirty-year-old vines, it is a wine that stands out like the centenary cedar at the center of the estate. The color is intense and bright ruby red. On the nose, it is broad, clear, and particularly enveloping, with fruity notes and slight spices. On the palate, Sangiovese immediately shows its greatness, soft and velvety, with hints of ripe sour cherries and a touch of cassis; the tannins are well blended, dense and fleshy, the finish is elegant and has good persistence. Recommended pairing with meat first courses or risottos, red meats, roasts, grilled dishes, braised meats and well-aged cheeses. Recommended temperature: 18-20°C. It is advisable to decant particularly aged bottles.
