Description

Designation: Taurasi DOCG Riserva Grape: 100% Aglianico Name: Aglianico Alcohol: 15° Format: 0.75L Production area: Sant’Angelo All’Esca (AV), Campania, Italy Description: The winemaking is done traditionally, with manual harvesting of the grapes during late harvest, maceration in natural cool environments at controlled temperature for over 2 weeks. The aging takes place in Slavonian oak barrels of 550 and 750 liters for over 24 months, then in bottle for at least 12 months. The color is red with garnet hues. On the nose, there are floral and ripe fruit aromas with hints of berries. On the palate, it is tannic, silky, and enveloping, expressing the qualities of Aglianico to the fullest. The Taurasi is produced purely from a vineyard of Aglianico grapes located precisely in the municipality from which the wine takes its name. Recommended pairing with meat-based first courses or risottos, red meats, roasts, grilled dishes, braised dishes, and well-aged cheeses. Recommended temperature: 18-20° C
