Anime is one of the few Italian examples of Belgian Pale Ale inspired by the classic interpretations of the style, born in Antwerp. Belgian Pale Ales from the more modern Belgian breweries, especially those in Brussels, are golden, light, and very hoppy with modern American and Pacific varieties, bursting with citrus and tropical fruit. In Antwerp, however, a Belgian Pale Ale is amber, around 6% alcohol, with caramel malt nuances and a more classic hoppiness. This is what the De Alchemia brewery wants to recreate with Anime, a beer that is more unique than rare in the Italian context.
