Helles Lagerbier is the lightest beer crafted by Schlenkerla - Brauerei Heller Trum (Bamberg, Germany): the only one from the brewery that does not feature smoked malt, yet the Franconian DNA is unmistakable. 4.3% vol., 30 IBU, in a 50 cl bottle, to be served in a mug or conical glass between 8 and 10°C. Golden color with a nice persistent white foam, recognizable by the blue label that recalls the colors of Munich. But the content follows the geography of Bamberg: the aromatic profile is slightly smoky, with a fuller body structure compared to typical Bavarian Helles, in pure Franconian style. Cerealy, bready, with a surprising smoky touch. It shines best at the table: pairs well with aged cheeses, speck, lard, bacon, pasta alla carbonara, amatriciana, pizzoccheri, grilled meats and chocolate desserts or dried fruits.
