Profanator is the German Doppelbock by Shire Brewing (Porciano, Frosinone, Lazio): it is made for the gloomy days of November, in anticipation of winter. 7.8% vol., in a 44 cl can - to be served in a mug or conical glass between 8 and 10 °C. Produced with a rich selection of German malts - two types of Munich, Pilsner, Melanoidin, Caramunich and Pale Chocolate - with Perle hops and German yeast. After a long lagering period at Arctic temperatures, its sweet tones soften and round out: honeyed, toasted, fruity, with a dark baked bread that envelops the sip. Rich amber, full, enveloping. It gives its best at the table: it pairs well with aged and flavorful cheeses, cold cuts, carbonara, amatriciana, pizzoccheri, shank, braised red meats, game and chocolate desserts.
