Porcedduzzi with Honey are delicious traditional sweets from Sicilian cuisine. They are characterized by a crunchy exterior and a soft interior, enriched with the aroma of grated lemon and orange. They are ideal to enjoy during the Christmas holidays.
Christmas recipe
Porcedduzzi are small cubes of sweet dough fried and covered in honey
The dough is the same as for cartellate: mix 1000 g of flour with 150 g of oil, 120 g of liqueur or white wine, the grated peel of one lemon, a pinch of salt, and if needed, a little water
Form a dough roll the thickness of a finger and cut it into pieces the size of a thimble
Each piece is passed over the tines of an overturned fork, then all are fried in a pan where oil has been heated with orange and lemon peels
Finally, let them drain on paper towels for fried foods
Now melt some honey in a saucepan over a double boiler, and when it's hot, pour in the porcedduzzi, stir them, and then remove them, placing them all around on a dessert plate to form a crown
Garnish with pine nuts and almonds toasted in the oven
