Barbera d'Alba Francia" Giacomo Conterno is a wine made exclusively from Barbera grapes sourced from one of Italy's most prestigious vineyards, the "Francia" vineyard, the southernmost cru of Serralunga along with Arione. The Barbera grapes are hand-harvested at perfect phenolic ripeness and brought to the winery for fermentation. This process takes place in wooden truncated conical vats at a temperature of about 25°C for 15 days, during which numerous pump-overs and delestage are performed to extract the valuable compounds from the wonderful Barbera of the Francia cru. Subsequently, the Barbera d'Alba "Francia" Giacomo Conterno is separated from the skins and aged in large wooden barrels for about 24 months before blending and bottling."
