Description
Brunello di Montalcino Castelgiocondo is obviously produced with 100% Sangiovese grapes from Montalcino, sourced from a very careful selection of the best Sangiovese from the Castelgiocondo vineyards of the Frescobaldi family. In this vintage, the spring was quite rainy, forcing the winemakers to make considerable efforts to maintain the health of the vegetation while also serving as a water reserve. The months of June and July were characterized by higher temperatures that anticipated the development and ripening of the grapes. The end of the harvest of Castelgiocondo's Sangiovese was on October 9th, with the clusters being harvested manually. The Sangiovese is brought to the winery for crushing, and the berries are directed into thermoregulated steel containers where they undergo alcoholic fermentation with maceration for about 4 weeks. Subsequently, the skins are separated from the Brunello di Montalcino Castelgiocondo, which is placed in French oak barriques and Slavonian oak barrels for aging that will last at least 2 years before blending and further aging in steel before bottling. According to regulations, the bottles cannot be sold before spending 4 months in the cellar for bottle aging. Pairings: Brunello di Montalcino Castelgiocondo is a very elegant noble wine that is well-suited to enhance dinners and lunches based on red meats and game, even when cooked in a spicy and elaborate manner.
