Friulano Dolee Vie Di Romans

Category: Wine•Region: Friuli Venezia Giulia•Sold by: FoodExplore•Shipped by: FoodExplore

Friulano Dolee Vie di Romans is a prestigious white wine produced by the homonymous winery located in the heart of Friuli Venezia Giulia, a region in northeastern Italy. This area is renowned for producing high-quality white wines, thanks to its temperate climate influenced by the Adriatic Sea and the Alps, and its mineral-rich soils. The vineyard from which this wine originates covers about 12 hectares, situated on predominantly clay and marl soil with a southwest exposure. The vines are trained using the guyot method, with a density of about 5,500 plants per hectare. Friulano Dolee Vie di Romans is made exclusively from Friulano grapes, an indigenous variety of Friuli Venezia Giulia. The grapes are hand-harvested, usually in the second half of September when they have reached optimal ripeness. The production process involves gentle pressing of the grapes, followed by controlled temperature fermentation in stainless steel. The wine is then aged on the lees for at least 8 months, always in stainless steel. This process allows the wine to develop a complex aromatic bouquet and acquire a solid and persistent structure. Friulano Dolee Vie di Romans shows an intense straw yellow color. On the nose, it offers aromas of ripe fruit, white flowers, and mineral notes. On the palate, it is full-bodied, rich, with good acidity that ensures freshness and drinkability. It can be enjoyed on its own but also pairs perfectly with fish dishes, white meats, and fresh cheeses. Pairings: Friulano Dolee Vie di Romans is a white wine with great structure and complexity, good acidity, and a persistent finish. These characteristics make it very versatile in terms of food pairings. One suggested pairing is with rich and flavorful fish dishes, such as seafood risotto or baked sea bass fillet with potatoes and olives. The wine balances the richness of these dishes, while the acidity cuts through the fat and cleanses the palate. Another interesting pairing is with aged cheeses, such as Sardinian pecorino or Parmigiano Reggiano. Friulano Dolee Vie di Romans has the structure to stand up to these intense cheeses and the acidity to balance their richness. Finally, this wine can also be paired with white meat dishes, such as roast chicken with aromatic herbs or milk-fed pork. In this case, the wine acts as a contrast, adding freshness and acidity to the dish. Remember, these are only suggestions. Food and wine pairing is very personal and depends on individual tastes. So, experiment and find the pairings you like best.
