Jermann Vintage Tunina is one of the most famous white wines in the Italian wine scene. It is a blend of Chardonnay, Sauvignon, and the local varieties Ribolla Gialla, Malvasia Istriana, and Picolit. The name Tunina was that of the owner of the plot on which the vineyard now stands, from which this wine originates. It is also a tribute to Casanova's poor lover, a housekeeper from Venice named Tunina (Antonia). The grapes that make up Jermann Vintage Tunina are harvested about two weeks later than the classic harvest date and brought to the winery for pressing. The musts ferment in steel and oak barrels for a variable period each year depending on the vintage conditions; fermentation lasts about 15 days. The wines remain in contact with fine lees for a few months after fermentation. Malolactic fermentation does not occur to preserve the freshness of the product. Pairings: Vintage Tunina Jermann is a wine of excellent structure and great drinkability, ideal with rich first courses based on fish, even very spicy ones. Main courses such as grilled sea fish are perfect when paired with this great wine. Vintage Tunina also pairs well with very flavorful aged cheeses. Storage: Store at 16-18°C Alcohol content: 13.5% Vintage: 2022 Aging: In steel and barriques.
