Denomination: Fiano di Avellino DOCG Grape Variety: 100% Fiano Name: Fiano di Avellino Alcohol: 13° Volume: 0.75L Production Area: Sant’Angelo All’Esca (AV), Campania, Italy Description: The grapes come from the hilly areas of the DOCG region of Fiano di Avellino. Like Greco di Tufo, it is one of the few white wines that maintain their quality even with aging. Known since Roman times. Its ancestry would date back to the ancient "VitisApiana." Highly appreciated in medieval times (among its admirers were Frederick II of Swabia and Charles of Anjou). The grapes are hand-picked in the early days of October, and the fermentation of the clear must takes place at a low temperature for about 10/15 days. The aging is done in steel and then 2 months in the bottle. The color is straw yellow with golden hues. On the nose, there are intense floral and fruity aromas. On the palate, it is full, dry, and has a pleasant acidic vein. Recommended pairing with rich fish dishes, seafood, white meats and poultry, with various types of salads and cheeses.
