The "Villa dei Misteri" project began in the 1990s when the Archaeological Superintendency of Pompeii entrusted the Mastroberardino family with the task of restoring viticulture in the ancient city. The idea materialized into a study program on the methods and techniques of viticulture and winemaking in ancient Pompeii.
