Description
Pineau des Charentes (DOC) is a mistelle, which is a wine must where the alcoholic fermentation is stopped by adding Cognac. Originating from the Charentes region, known for Cognac production, Pineau des Charentes is created by combining two-thirds grape must and one-third Cognac aged in French oak barrels. Only Cognac winegrower-distillers, known as "Bouilleurs de Cru," are authorized to produce it. We present to you the Pineau des Charentes Rouge, a nectar with an unexpected and generous taste. Terroir: clay-limestone soil with an oceanic climate. Grapes: Merlot. In the cellar: the red grape juice macerates in oak barrels for at least 24 months, with the addition of Cognac aged for at least 2 years. Cultivation: Located in the heart of the illustrious Cognac terroir, Domaine Elisabeth is an ancient family estate whose tradition has remained unbroken since 1767.
