Description

Concerto di Fonterutoli The "Concerto" was born in 1981 in the wake of a viticulture aware of a still unexpressed potential, experimenting with new forms of cultivation and new blends including non-native varieties; it was one of the pioneers and major protagonists of the phenomenon of the so-called “Super Tuscans”. The Concerto is produced from 80% Sangiovese and 20% Cabernet Sauvignon vines trained in the spurred cordon and Guyot systems, on a structured soil thanks to the disintegration of alberese and galestro rocks. The grapes, strictly hand-picked, are left to macerate for 14 to 18 days. The maturation takes place over 18 months in small French oak barrels; it is then bottled in February 2017. This wine is a true legend, produced by the Mazzei family which has been making unique wines with soul and passion for over six hundred years. The wines of this winery are born from a philosophy handed down from generation to generation, which focuses on enhancing native grape varieties to express the identity of the Tuscan territory. With attention and respect for diversity and nature, it adopts sustainable agriculture made of careful measures to maintain the balance of the earth.
