Concerto di Fonterutoli The "Concerto" was born in 1981 from a viticulture aware of an untapped potential, experimenting with new training methods and new blends including non-native varieties; it was one of the pioneers and main protagonists of the so-called "Super Tuscans" phenomenon. Concerto is produced from vines that are 80% Sangiovese and 20% Cabernet Sauvignon trained with spur cordon and Guyot methods, in soil structured by the breakdown of alberese and galestro rocks. The grapes, harvested strictly by hand, are left to macerate for 14 to 18 days. Maturation takes place over 18 months in small French oak barrels, then it is bottled in February 2017. This wine is a true legend, produced by the Mazzei family who have been making unique wines with soul and passion for over six hundred years. The wines of this estate come from a philosophy passed down through generations, focusing on enhancing native grape varieties to express the identity of the Tuscan territory.
