The Vacuum-packed Ermes Rice 500g is an Italian cultivar of red whole grain rice. Obtained in Italy from the crossing of Venere rice (medium grain and black pericarp) and an indica-type rice (long and narrow grain and white pericarp). It also has an elongated grain with a delicate aroma and a vibrant red color at the harvest, brick-red after aging, given by the presence of anthocyanins contained in the outer part of the hulled grain. The Vacuum-packed Ermes Rice 500g is mainly cultivated in the provinces of Vercelli and Pavia, where the company Il Riso del Paradiso is located. Its peculiar note on the palate recalls exotic rice varieties; for this reason, I recommend pairing it with stews or grilled foods, seasoned with oil and aromatic herbs. Available in vacuum-sealed bag of 500g.
