Preparation

  1. STEP 1 OF 5

    Prepare the hamburgers: In a large bowl, mix the ground beef with paprika, cumin, chili powder, salt, and pepper. Form 4 even hamburgers and let them rest in the refrigerator for at least 15 minutes.

  2. STEP 2 OF 5

    Prepare the sauce: In another bowl, combine the diced mango with the grapefruit juice and pulp, chopped spring onion, fresh chili (optional), coriander, extra virgin olive oil, and salt. Mix well and let rest in the refrigerator to blend the flavors.

  3. STEP 3 OF 5

    Cooking the hamburgers: Heat a griddle or non-stick pan well and cook the hamburgers for 4-5 minutes per side or according to desired doneness. Just before finishing cooking, also warm the buns on the griddle to make them slightly crispy.

  4. STEP 4 OF 5

    Assembly: On the bottom half of the bun, place a leaf of lettuce, the hot hamburger, add a generous spoonful of mango and grapefruit sauce, and finish with a few thin slices of red onion.

    Serving: Serve the hot hamburgers accompanied by fries or fresh salad.

Storage notes

Raw hamburgers should be stored in the refrigerator for no more than 1-2 days before cooking. The mango and grapefruit sauce can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for 3-4 days. Cooked hamburgers can be kept in the refrigerator for 2-3 days. It is recommended to gently reheat them before serving.
